This is the inaugural year of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Science Collaborative. The goal of the UTRGV Science Collaborative is to provide support to K-12 science teachers in the areas of content knowledge, instructional skills, and technology applications. We are here to "serve teachers". The meetings, workshops, and collaboration activities asks science teachers to come together and talk to one another for the purpose of refining and elevating their craft.
We listen to teachers and give them a voice by meeting their needs for content, instruction, and technology training. We are funded through the Texas Education Agency, Department of Education, and several foundations and industry partners. They need us to develop the best prepared STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) students in the world.
We have been in existence in the Rio Grande Valley for over twenty years and have experience supporting teachers and increasing student achievement. Teachers make a difference and we are all master teachers with a common mission.
Thank you for joining the UTRGVTRC. We're going to have a great year. Let us know by writing comments below how we can improve our program and support you.
